Low carbon technology
Innovations in vehicle manufacturing such as new materials, more efficient engines and hybrid technology are helping to reduce emissions, as are alternative fuels. But research and development is expensive and risky for any company. That's why the Department of Transport is supporting the Low Carbon Research and Development Grant in encouraging organisations to explore and develop viable alternative technologies that can become part of mainstream commercial planning in the next future.
